Refuting the command of the enemy…

2 Kings 1:7-11 (KJV)

Then the king sent unto him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him: and, behold, he sat on the top of a hill. And he spake unto him, Thou man of God, the king hath said, Come down.
And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.
Again also he sent unto him another captain of fifty with his fifty. And he answered and said unto him, O man of God, thus hath the king said, Come down quickly.

The law of gravity states that everything that goes up must come down. And this law if researched, one would understand it’s application has a spiritual undertone. Life is all about moving up higher in all endeavors yet many are still experiencing downslope virtually in all areas of their lives. Why you may ask? Because there is a force that is warring against the sons of men not to attain the level at which God has ordained them. There is a voice that is speaking against the success and the progress of the children of God. The Bible says… The accuser of our brethren, who accuse them before our God day and night
(Rev 12:10b) 

That is to say, there is a power that has vowed to bring you down into judgement and condemnation by all means.

Psalm 49:15... But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.

The Bible called it the Power of the grave… It is the power that has vowed to bring us down into oblivion and retrogression. it daily competes with our destinies, warring against us moving forward or progressing in every area of our endeavor. The enemy has vowed to pursue, to overtake and divide our spoils and also make sure his lust is satisfied upon us, with his sword drawn he vowed to destroy us. (Exodus 15:9)

 
The bible says the thief has come to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10).

This enemy has purposed in his heart to bring us down. His agents are daily carrying out his agenda at every opportunity to deploy his arsenal of destruction over our lives, families, businesses, and ministry.

Hear this scripture…

(7)Then the king sent unto him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him: and, behold, he sat on the top of a hill. And he spake unto him, Thou man of God, the king hath said, Come down._

(9) Again also he sent unto him another captain of fifty with his fifty. And he answered and said unto him, O man of God, thus hath the king said, Come down quickly.

The Bible said the KING sent his CAPTAIN.. to Elijah where he was sitting on top of the hill… Let me dig in deeper on this insight…

The position of Elijah sitting on top of the hill is a victorious position, a position where things are working perfectly, as the Bible says we are a city set upon a hill, we are to shine and radiate his glory, in the spirit Elijah has attained this position. He was reigning… He has seated means he was in a rest position sitting in the heavenlies, at the right hand of God which means a position of authority just as the Bible says we are seated with Christ in heavenly places. He has obtained a position of rest where heaven is set to carry out his dictate. This was the position Elijah has attained. Every child of God must have this understanding of being in the presence of God always and also sitting down with him in heavenly places. Don’t forget Elijah has said earlier before the battle with the prophets of Baal saying the God in whose presence I am.. Meaning he is Everly present in God’s presence, therefore this was the status of Elijah before the King sent his captain. King Ahaziah was an authority symbol in the land, he was the principal of that era, his words were a decree which must be executed or carried out. He was an authority in the land but don’t forget he was sick also. Lacking in health to confront the prophet of God. This king represented the power that wants to dethrone Elijah from the highly exalted position God has placed him. As many powers are seeking to dethrone us from our place in the plans of God. Many people have been dethroned and destroyed by the power of darkness who chased them away from their rightful position. The Bible calls them principalities, powers, rulers of power of darkness, and spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:12)

As a matter of fact, every believer of God must be aware of the forces of spiritual wickedness in high places as they are in the pursuit to attain higher places in life because these powers are strategically placed to reck wickedness against the children of God. So this king sent a decree through his captain… His captain is the commander of his legion. They are his human agents who do his bidding from time to time.
Hear what the Bible says. A captain of fifty WITH HIS FIFTY! a captain with his armies who are ready to die to carry out his command. One would ask if the intention of the king was a good one why so many armies on a single man? It signifies that the man must be forced against his will to come down and be brought to do the bidding of the king against his will hence the reason the king sent such a huge company of armies to bring him down.

Every army of the enemy working against your destiny as to bring you down will have themselves destroyed in Jesus’s name.

Many powers of darkness are working day and night to bring you down against the will of God over your destiny just as we can see here. You must stand your ground to consume them and I decree every power of darkness raging to pull you down into failure, poverty, stagnation shall be consumed by fire in Jesus’s name.

Can you imagine? The captain of the fifty said… Thou man of God! Don’t be deceived the kingdom of darkness knows your identity if you are on the Lord’s side or not. They know if you are aware of your own identity… Because the captain addressed him as Man of God which means he knew his identity yet they were not afraid to bond him and drag him down to the king. The devil isn’t afraid of your status in God until you prove your identity. I pray every situation that is challenging your identity in God shall be subdued by fire in Jesus’s name.

He said the king hath said… COME DOWN… Every power that is drawing you down, pulling you down from where God has placed or every voice that is warring against the position God has placed your family, business, and marriages, that is struggling to bring you down shall be destroyed by the fire of God in Jesus’s name.

This voice is still beckoning to many children of God till today, bringing them down. This command comes from different angles… Some through friends or family, some through colleagues or whosoever… This COMEDOWN command is still very active pulling people down from their highly exalted position, shifting them from the centre to God’s will into the devilish plans and gimmicks to destroy them.

I command every commanding voice of the enemy that wants to bring you down into the mud position of the devil to destroy you is hereby destroyed in Jesus’s name.

Elijah having recognized this didn’t go to sleep or become passive and be watching what would happen. No!

The bible says.. Elijah answered and said to the captain of the fifty… Elijah was alert to respond and promptly he answered the captain before his command settles.
Be like Elijah, don’t let any word of the enemy rest or settles on you. Don’t allow the dictate of the evil command to find a place in your home or business or career or ministry. Refute it immediately, peradventure someone says something negative wherever you find yourself please negate it or counter it immediately and speak what the word of God says. Elijah said IF I BE A MAN OF GOD..  let fire come down… When enemy beckons to you to come down from your highly favored position, instead of you coming down, send fire down in your stead. Let fire answers for you. Raining fire to consume every intention of the enemy that desires to bring you down or your children down. The bible says fire goes before the Lord and it consumes all his enemies…

Psalms 97:3 (KJV) A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies roundabout.

God delights in the fire to consume his enemies because the enemies of God are also enemies of his children. You know why God will use fire because he has made a wall of fire around you to protect you from the attack of the enemy.

Zechariah 2:5 (KJV) For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about and will be the glory in the midst of her.

Friends, rise up to command fire over the enemy that is struggling to bring you down or warring over your life saying the will of God will not come to the past in your life. The bible says he makes his servant flame of fire…

Psalms 104:4 (KJV) Who maketh his angel’s spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:

Let the Lord that answers by fire step into the affairs of your life henceforth in Jesus’s name.
Elijah was sure of his identity, he was aware of his position in God, friends if you are not aware of your position in God then the enemy would consume you and bring you down cheaply. If you are not identified with God, His fire would not answer for you at the critical time of need in your life, therefore you need to come into a relationship with him to identify with him.

Speak to God today from the bottom of your heart and ask for his forgiveness. Ask him to be your Lord and personal saviour and pray for his Holy Spirit to come and reside in you then he would turn you to fire that consumes every command of the enemy against your life in Jesus’s name.
